Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!
Wow, 2016 was an amazing year. Between my photography business and my personal family life, 2016 will forever be a year of significance. My family kicked off the year by welcoming our new son into the family…our sweet Israel (pictured below).

Between two trips to Ethiopia to bring Israel home and adjusting to life as a family of 4, I was off work for the beginning of the year. Once I came back to the studio, my clients kept me extra busy for the remainder of the year. I’m so grateful! I photographed tons of newborns and families during 2016, and although it was crazy busy, I’m so glad I was able to capture so many special moments in my clients’ lives.
A few months ago, we decided it was time for my husband to quit his full-time job to pursue his talents as a woodworker. He started JS Woodcraft & Design, building custom furniture, and it’s been incredible. Not only is he getting to make beautiful pieces of art everyday, he is also able to spend more time with our kids. This makes my job as a photographer so much easier because my childcare (aka Daddy) is available as needed.

I took a little bit of time off during December to enjoy Israel’s first Christmas home, but to also plan out what 2017 will look like. I already have emails and messages coming in, asking about Spring/Summer outdoor sessions. As many of you know, I always hold two weekends of “quick minis” per year, and this last year I also offered full outdoor portrait sessions. My mini sessions always sell out super fast, literally within minutes, and I always have a group of people who are left without mini session bookings because I simply can’t provide enough for everyone. I’ve talked a lot with my clients over the past year about what the perfect sessions would be, and many agree they would love to have something that’s between a “quick mini” (traditionally 15 minutes with 5-7 images) and a full session (1-2 hours and 30-40 images). SO this year, I’ve decided to do something completely different than my norm, and that’s to offer several longer mini sessions throughout the Spring/Summer. As of right now, I have about 10 different days where I’ll offer these mini sessions. This will hopefully allow more people to take advantage of a mini session, while also providing flexibility with dates, since many people also miss out on mini sessions if they already have plans the weekends I typically schedule them. It also gives families more time at their session, without feeling rushed. And to top it off, you get more photos this way too!
Some details about 2017 mini sessions:
-30 minutes in length
-12-15 digital images included (with rights to print on your own)
-multiple poses
-$350+tax
Ok, so now you might be wondering how you actually book one of these mini sessions! I decided since most of my clients follow my Facebook page, I’d post all of the session date/time availability in an album on my page, where you can easily see what is still available and reserve your session. All of the instructions will be included in the album caption. When you come to my Facebook page, just click on the album named “2017 Mini Session Bookings.” Each mini session day listed in the album will also state what style of location it will take place at.
OFFICIAL BOOKINGS WILL OPEN UP ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE ON
THURSDAY, JANUARY 5, 2017 AT 6PM
I hope to see you all there! <3
